Zara Asante is a British Athletics Power of 10 athlete.
She grew up in Cumbernauld and attended The Glasgow
Academy, She is a member of Blackheath & Bromley
athletics club and is coached by Keith Fleming.
In 2011 Zara traded the modelling runway for the triple
jump runway beginning her athletics career whilst
simultaneously reading law at Brunel University. Zara
joined an illustrious list of athletes (including 400m
sprinter Perry Shakes-Drayton, and current European
800m champion Shelayna Oskan-Clarke) when admitted
onto the Brunel University Sports Scholarship
programme in 2012. In 2015 Zara became British
Universities Triple Jump Champion.
Since then Zara has become a regular competitor on the
European athletics circuit. She maintains her Scottish
Champion title for 2019 and continues to work hard
towards securing a place at the Tokyo Olympics in
2020.
